Richer for Wandering was created slowly by a couple of travelers that wanted another kind of adventure. At first it was just a blog, a way to remember all the fun experiences while exploring. While traveling, writing the blog, and meeting other adventurers they realized that Richer for Wandering was growing into something more.
Knowing that their daughter Ren was a designer and artist, they enlisted her help to create illustrations that were inspired by their adventures. She took the idea, the blog, and her own experiences and went to work. Her love of animals became the starting point and she used them as whimsical metaphors for travelers while using inks to create the illustrations.
It took off from there and suddenly Richer for Wandering became a way to share travel; from meeting and talking with all the lovely people at different markets to giving back to foundations that support similar causes. Almost one year in and the goal is still to create art that is inspired by travels, but it’s become a way to encourage people to take adventures, explore new places, and experience new cultures. Inspiring light-hearted curiosity and that traveling, even to a new place in your neighborhood, can be an adventure.
